Entries to Art About Agriculture 2008

  1. Entries must include the following: a completed entry form, CD-ROM and a self-addressed stamped envelope for return of the CD-ROM. We recommend submitting a duplicate CD-ROM only, not an original, as Art About Agriculture is not responsible for damage to CD-ROMs or their loss. Entries must be mailed with a postmark no later than Friday, January 4, 2008, or hand-delivered entries must be received by noon, Friday, January 4, 2008. Deliver or mail entries to: Art About Agriculture, College of agricultural Sciences, 127 Strand Agriculture Hall, Oregon State University, Corvallis, OR 97331-2213.
  2. On a CD-ROM, submit digital “jpeg” files of up to five artworks. Image files must be no larger than 6 megabytes, must have a resolution of 150 dots per inch (dpi), and must open on a Macintosh computer.
  3. Label image files respectively with 1) artist’s last name and 2) identification letter A, B, C, D, or E corresponding to entry form.
  4. In the case of three-dimensional works, additional images may be submitted to show multiple views. Limited to three views per artwork. Label multiple views with artist’s last name, identification letter: A1, A2, A3, for example.
  5. No entry fee is required. However, galleries may charge a sales commission, not to exceed 40 percent, on work sold while on display during the tour.

Graphic arts service bureaus can assist with generating a CD-ROM with digital images files from film transparencies. Although no endorsement is intended or implied, one such service bureau is PhotoCraft, Inc., 320 S. W. Stark Street, Portland,

This completed form, your CD-ROM, and a self-addressed, stamped envelope for return of your CD-ROM

  1. must be mailed with a postmark no later than Friday, January 4, 2008 or
  2. must be hand delivered no later than noon, Friday, January 4, 2008.

Deliver or mail entries to: Art About Agriculture, Oregon State University, 127 Strand Agriculture Hall, Corvallis, OR 97331-2213. You may photocopy this form, however, the entry form application must include your original signature.

Disclaimer and Agreement

I understand that I am personally responsible for my art and for insuring my art until the following four conditions are met:

  1. My art is accepted for exhibition in Tour 2008 and I have received written notice thereof.
  2. My art is received by Art About Agriculture.
  3. I have completed the Oregon State University Personal Property Loan Agreement forms, and
  4. These forms are received by the office of Oregon State University Property Management.

If my artwork is accepted for the competition, I give permission for it to be reproduced for publicity and fundraising purposes by OSU including the Art About Agriculture World Wide Web page, though not for commercial purposes by third parties. Artists selected by the jury panel or invited by the curator for participation in Art About Agriculture 2008: The Nick of Time will be recognized at the Artists’ Reception and Awards Presentation in the OSU LaSells Stewart Center on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The LaSells Stewart Center is located at the corner of Western Avenue and 26th Street. Submission of artwork to the competition constitutes agreement to all conditions in this agreement and prospectus.
